About us
Meet Gates & Ashby
West Austin Lightworks was started in 2025 by Gates and Ashby, two UT students who grew up doing home-services work in their hometowns. They learned early that this work gets judged from the curb, which is why every roofline is custom-cut and every cord is hidden. Now in their second season lighting up West Austin.

We supply and own the lights
Nothing for you to buy, store, or replace. The lights are ours; the look is yours.
Custom-cut to your roofline
Measured and cut to your home the first year. We keep your measurements on file so year two is faster.
Clips only, never staples
Every strand is clipped and every cord hidden — no holes in your fascia, and you can't tell we were there during the day.
All-season maintenance: if a bulb goes out or a strand comes loose, text us and we're back out within 48 hours — no charge, all season.

Who provides the lights?
We do. West Austin Lightworks supplies and owns every strand, so there's nothing for you to buy, store, or replace between seasons.
What kind of bulbs do you use?
Commercial-grade C9 bulbs — the warm, substantial look you see on the best-lit homes, not thin big-box strands.
Do you use staples or clips?
Clips only, never staples. Every strand is clipped and every cord tucked out of sight, so there are no holes in your fascia.
What if a bulb burns out mid-season?
Text us and we're back out within 48 hours to fix it — no charge, all season long.
When do you install and take down?
Installs run through the fall and into the holidays, and we handle quick, hassle-free takedown and storage in January.
What if it rains on install day?
If the forecast turns, we'll move your install to the next clear day and keep you posted — at no extra charge.
How high can you go — second and third stories?
Yes. We're equipped to safely light two- and three-story rooflines and peaks.
Do you handle timers and power?
Yes. We set up timers so your lights come on and off on their own, and we sort out the power routing as part of the install.
